Max Morris is from Melbourne and is a PhD student in the Department of Political Science at the University of Toronto. He holds a Bachelor of Arts in Philosophy from the University of Melbourne and a Master of Arts in Philosophy and Research Master of Philosophy (ReMA) from KU Leuven in Belgium, graduating from both summa cum laude and earning first place in the latter. Max’s primary field of research is political theory (Plato’s Laws), with a secondary focus on international relations. With his World Universities Ramsay Postgraduate Scholarship, Max will complete his PhD at the University of Toronto. He is passionate about engaging with others to create new opportunities for intellectual exchange. In the future, Max intends to return to Australia to contribute to the revival of education and scholarship in classical Western political thought, working with scholars and professionals to establish and develop university programs, conferences and summer schools devoted to the study of classical texts.
