Margot Holbert is from Gawler in South Australia, near the Barossa Valley and discovered her passion for Gothic and Classical architecture after a year in the UK working at a Catholic boarding school in the North Yorkshire Moors. Upon her return to Australia, she undertook a Bachelor of Civil and Architectural Engineering at the University of Adelaide, graduating with First Class Honours. With her World Universities Ramsay Postgraduate Scholarship, Margot will undertake the Master of Architecture program at the University of Notre Dame in Indiana, the premier school dedicated to the teaching of architectural design with a focus on classical architecture and the architecture of subsequent centuries of western and Christian civilisation. Margot is deeply passionate about restoring the traditions of architectural design and practice, as they were prior to the 20th century. In her spare time, she is a choral singer, tap dancer, and painter.
