Jack Ryan is a national security adviser from Canberra, and a Distinguished Graduate of the Australian Defence Force Academy. He holds a Bachelor of Arts (Politics and History) with distinction from the University of NSW and a Master of Arts (Political Philosophy) from Pompeu Fabra University, Spain. A former military officer and current reservist, Jack has worked at the Office of National Intelligence and most recently the Department of Prime Minister and Cabinet, on emerging security issues. With his Ramsay Postgraduate Scholarship, Jack will pursue a Master of Public Policy at the London School of Economics and Political Science. His research will focus on the growing impact that Artificial Intelligence will have on the national security environment and how its development increasingly threatens economic and industrial paradigms. In the future, Jack hopes to work at the forefront of Australia’s AI strategies from both public and private sector perspectives.
