Isabelle Napier is from Sydney and has worked in social policy, food and agricultural sustainability, and international relations. She was a founding member of the University of Sydney’s Policy Lab, consultant to Denmark’s Ministry of Food and Environment and a fellow at Yale’s Sustainable Food Program. Isabelle holds a Bachelor in Ethics, Politics and Economics from Yale University and is completing a Master of Philosophy in International Relations at Oxford. With her World Universities Ramsay Postgraduate Scholarship, Isabelle will continue onto doctoral studies at Oxford. Her doctoral project will theorise ‘white allyship’ in international politics, as modelled by twentieth-century Australian, British, European, and American women who took up causes including indigenous Australian human rights, Ethiopian liberation, Indian nationalism and American civil rights. Isabelle is passionate about bridging cultural and societal divides in world politics and hopes to contribute in her future career to creating Australian foreign policy settings that foster international trust and collaboration.
