Henry Littleton Phillips grew up in the Adelaide Hills. He holds a Bachelor of Arts (Advanced) and a Master of Philosophy from the University of Adelaide, where he now teaches ethics and moral philosophy. His current area of research in moral philosophy focusses on blame and the emotions. Specifically, he examines how people feature in a blaming interaction; looking at whether when we are blaming people, we should examine how we ourselves acted in the past. Henry is passionate about answering difficult moral questions in a way that is accessible to the public. He is also passionate about human rights and is an active member of Amnesty International’s Activism Leadership Committee in SA/NT. With his World Universities Ramsay Postgraduate Scholarship, Henry will study a Bachelor of Philosophy in Philosophy at the University of Oxford. In the future he hopes to put this rigorous detailed academic training to use in an academic career.
