Helena Skundric is from Sydney and has just completed her studies at Australian Catholic University (ACU) in the Bachelor of Arts (Western Civilisation) as an ACU Ramsay Scholar. At ACU she has led her peers as Vice-President of the Liberal Arts Society and Editor of the in-house Scroll magazine. Helena has a keen interest in interdisciplinary approaches to learning, journalism, politics, and 19th-century literature; favourites include Jane Austen and George Eliot. When she is not reading, Helena likes to sketch, bake, and play basketball. She is learning Croatian, because of her Croatian heritage, and recently joined an Old English reading group at ACU. With her St John’s College, Annapolis, Scholarship, Helena will undertake the College’s renowned two-year Master of Arts in Liberal Arts degree and be mentored to secure and participate in an area of interest in Washington, D.C. In the future Helena hopes to pursue a career in teaching, academia, or journalism.
