Hamish Tynan is from Adelaide. He holds a Bachelor of Arts (Advanced) with First Class Honours in Philosophy from the University of Adelaide. For his undergraduate studies, he was awarded the Jefferis Memorial Medal and the Professor Sir William Mitchell Prize for Honours Philosophy. With his World Universities Ramsay Postgraduate Scholarship, Hamish will read the Bachelor of Philosophy in Philosophy at the University of Oxford. His main academic interests are in the history and philosophy of morality, and he will complete his thesis on the development of Western moral thought. Outside of his studies, Hamish is passionate about social justice and is a long-standing volunteer for educational and community organisations. He is also a keen athlete and musician, having won national awards in both disciplines. In the future, Hamish aspires to work as a philosopher and make a meaningful contribution to Australian philosophy, education, and public life.
