Ezra Uxó Williams is a violinist from Melbourne undertaking his Master’s degree at the Robert Schumann Hochschule in Düsseldorf, Germany. He holds a Bachelor of Music (Honours) from the Melbourne Conservatorium of Music. Ezra served as the Concertmaster of both the University of Melbourne Symphony Orchestra and the String Ensemble, touring Singapore and Malaysia in 2023. He was also Principal Second Violin of the Australian Youth Orchestra in 2024. He has received numerous awards and grants in recognition of his artistic excellence, notably the Dr Alexandra Cameron Scholarship and the Margaret Schofield Memorial Scholarship. Beyond his violin studies, Ezra has pursued conducting, historically informed performance, and contemporary avant-garde repertoire. With his Ramsay Postgraduate Scholarship, Ezra will complete the second year of his Master’s, under the tutelage of Yamei Yu, the ex-concertmaster of the Komische Oper and the Bavarian Opera. Post-study, Ezra aspires to work as a performing musician, with the long-term vision of appointment as concertmaster or artistic director.
