Violinist Emma Williams tours internationally, having performed in the Royal Albert Hall, Het Concertgebouw, all major Australian concert venues, and remote Ecuadorian rainforests. Raised in Darwin, she sang in national youth choirs before completing her Bachelor of Music (Honours) at Melbourne Conservatorium of Music and Master of Early Music at Koninklijk Conservatorium Den Haag. Passionate about engaging and connecting with audiences, in 2018 Emma co-founded the concert series, MusicBox, and podcast, Outside the MusicBox. Emma will use her World Universities Ramsay Postgraduate Scholarship to fund her PhD at Leiden University on 19th-century vocal and violin performance practices. After her PhD, Emma hopes to continue creating inviting and engaging spaces to share classical music with the wider community. When not performing, Emma loves hiking, reading, knitting, and cooking.
