Create an
Account
Access the application portal (opens February 2027 date TBC) to create your account and start your application.

Complete Your
Application
Submit your application through the portal before the deadline.
In the application you will need to:
Provide evidence of Australian citizenship (or permanent residency).
Provide evidence that you have been accepted into one or more of the graduate programs for which you have applied for 2026 start. List up to three. If you are enrolling in a doctoral research program, you will also need to include your research proposal.
Provide an academic summary of your career to date (institutions and degrees obtained), including certified transcripts and awards. List up to three.
Provide a 2-page CV (including work experience, community service and leadership, and other noteworthy non-academic activities). Publications should be listed on separate page and attached to your CV.
Provide contact details of three referees. Your referees will only be contacted in the event you are shortlisted for interview. At least one of the referees must provide an academic reference that speaks to your academic ability.

Referee guidelines
Candidates for the Ramsay Postgraduate Scholarship are required to provide details of three referees who will support their application. If shortlisted, referees will be contacted directly by the Ramsay Centre in April and invited to submit their references by May.
What Referees Need to Include
- Provide insight into the candidate’s personal qualities, leadership abilities and involvement in the wider community.
- At least one referee must verify the candidate’s academic capabilities and potential for postgraduate study at a top-ranked overseas university.
Selection Criteria
The Ramsay Centre seeks candidates who are outstanding, thoughtful and imaginative.
The selection panel focuses on the following:
- Strength of character, leadership qualities and commitment to serve others.
Outstanding academic achievement and intellectual vision. - Commitment to advancing a richer understanding of Western civilisation, demonstrated through university study or the proposed postgraduate program.
Reference Submission
- The reference should be a 1-2 page PDF document in portrait orientation.
- If the referee has overseen the applicant’s academic work, they should comment on the applicant’s readiness for postgraduate study at a world-leading university.
- If the referee has not overseen the applicant’s academic study, they should emphasise the applicant’s qualities that align with the selection criteria.
